Currently, Paul is the Chief Technologist for Microsoft’s Midwest District. In his role, he focuses on applying Microsoft’s “forward looking” strategy to Microsoft’s Enterprise customers. His desire is to help them navigate intersection of business and technology. Paul started with Microsoft in 2007 as a Technology Strategist and more recently the Director of Microsoft’s Core Infrastructure business in Microsoft’s Midwest District. Throughout his career, he’s been a passionate advocate for making technology applicable and understandable for everyone. He’s known for his passion, strong technical acumen and strategic approach to customer interactions.
Prior to joining to Microsoft, Paul was the Chief Technology Officer at Planet Technologies. (www.go-planet.com) At Planet, he guided a team of consultants worldwide. He was responsible for the technical strategy of the company within its US federal government practice and the commercial service provider (CSP) businesses internationally. Paul also co-founded eQuest Technologies which was eventually acquired by Planet Technologies.
Paul is a native Chicagoan who lives in the city with his wife and two children. He grew up on the Northwest Side of Chicago where he attended Gordon Tech High School. He attended the University of Arizona before returning to Chicago and graduating from Loyola University with a BS in Economics.
Beth Malloy joined Microsoft in July of 2014 as Director of the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Chicago, where she is responsible for leading a team of Microsoft architects who help customers envision and design their own digital transformations. Since serving as its director, the Chicago center has grown its business by 55% and during the last fiscal year, delivered more customer engagements with more impacted revenue than any MTC in the world.
She came to Microsoft after twelve years as president of her own firm, Beth Malloy and Associates, a management consulting firm which specialized in helping public sector clients across America transform the way they deliver services to their constituents.
She got her start in public service when she served as the chief information officer for mayor Richard M. Daley at the city of Chicago, and later served as CIO for the Illinois Department of Revenue and as deputy mayor for the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Her private sector experience includes serving as director of consulting at IBM’s largest commercial account and as director at Gartner, Inc.
She received the Government Innovation Award from the Kennedy School of Government, was chosen as one of the nation’s premier 100 chief information officers by Computerworld magazine in its inaugural selection, and honored as one of Chicago’s most influential business leaders in technology by Crain’s Chicago Business magazine.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Math from Youngstown State University.
